As President of Expert SEO Consulting, Eric Richmond is responsible for managing the business operations and client relationships of the company.
Eric has been focused on organic search – and audience development in general – for nearly 20 years and is a seasoned veteran of the interactive industry. Most recently, he was the Head of Audience Development for Complex Media. Started by fashion designer Marc Ecko, the web sites that make up Complex Media target young urban males between 16 and 35 years old who are interested in sneakers, pop culture, fashion, sports and music. During his tenure, Eric’s team was responsible for growing the Complex network from 100 million unique users to a publishing behemoth that attracted nearly 350 million unique users and 1.2 billion pageviews a month using paid search, organic search, content syndication, social media and email.
Before moving to Complex, Eric was the Vice President of Search and Social Media for TechMediaNetwork (now called Purch). While at TMN he and his team focused on driving traffic to the Company’s series of tech shopping and lifestyle sites using organic search, email and social media. Prior to TechMediaNetwork, Eric was the VP of SEO and Technology for Ad Agency 360i where he and his team developed many of the proprietary technologies for optimizing organic search campaigns that are used by MSO (Martha Stewart Optimedia), Enterprise Rent A Car, Turner Broadcasting, NBC/Universal and others.
Before 360i, Eric ran Enterprise Sales for technology vendors RichFX (purchased by ChannelAdvisor) and Viewpoint. He was VP of Interactive Services at the Grey Ventures division of Grey Global Group as well as acting Global CIO for the 28 world-wide offices of Grey Interactive. At Grey, Eric participated in both international and domestic new business pitches, delivered a presentation on email marketing to the press in Istanbul, Turkey and lead the New York office’s 30 person technology development team that was instrumental in developing the industry’s first rich email campaign for Cover Girl in 1998.
Eric resides in Rowayton, CT where he lives with his wife Annette and their 2 4-legged children Holly and Katie. An avid car enthusiast, he is a long time member of the legendary Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving and Chowder Society and volunteers at Connecticut’s Lime Rock Park.
